When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

Sooooo.... I read the book today after lots of haggling with an old lady and her dog. At the moment I am still trying to process what I read. Have you ever read a book you have been wanting to read just because the author had previously written an awesome series so it inspired you to go and read this new book, only to feel oddly disappointed and left with the greatest void (greater than a black hole) and making you regret the decision of buying the book in the first place? Anyone? No? Yes?

Well that was the feeling I was left with. I am not happy about it since now I will never get $11.99 back.

Most of us who read this book or soon-to are either huge fans of the VA series or just stragglers hopping on board after we convinced them that this book is going to be epic.
I can tell you now that all it ended up being was an epic disappointment.

It all starts in the aftermath of Rose's discovery of Jill's true identity, and Lissa's ascension to the throne. Sydney is in huge trouble with the Alchemists considering her involvement in helping Rose escape from jail. Even though Rose was innocent, she was still a monster in their eyes. As for the Moroi themselves, the Alchemists considered them as cold blooded killers who were abominations. So now you can imagine how big of an "Oopsies" Sydney did. When the Alchemists approach her father about using her little sister for a super important mission, Big Sis Sydney jumps to the rescue. After proving them that she won't become BFF's with the Vampires involved, she is sent off to her assignment in Palm Springs.
There she meets up with some of our fave characters Jill, Adrian, Eddie, Rose, and Abe. Who can forget Abe? I sure can't. I would personally love to have a father like him.
It was nice to read about the gang together again though it was not a pleasant welcome. Richelle Mead's writing has been turning quite gloomy. It lost that super witty and sarcastic appeal that kept me interested.
While you all expect for there to be a super steamy moment between Sydney and Adrian, don't keep your hopes up. You will only get bickering and a sense of "When will this crap be over". I really do feel that she could have done so much better. Hopefully she can redeem herself in the next book. Which, by the way, has a very pretty cover. I do like looking at the covers. *Pretty*

Description-
Beatrice "Tris" Prior has reached the fateful age of sixteen, the stage at which teenagers in Veronica Roth's dystopian Chicago must select which of five factions to join for life. Each faction represents a virtue: Candor, Abnegation, Dauntless, Amity, and Erudite. To the surprise of herself and her selfless Abnegation family, she chooses Dauntless, the path of courage. Her choice exposes her to the demanding, violent initiation rites of this group, but it also threatens to expose a personal secret that could place in mortal danger. Veronica Roth's young adult Divergent trilogy launches with a captivating adventure about love and loyalty playing out under most extreme circumstances.

The biggest question on my mind would have to be.... what happen to the rest of the world? Making the main focus of the book Chicago was cool and all, but was the rest of the world the same way? Was it divided into subsections? Though I know writers (like the rest of us human) are flawed, I should cut this one some slack. Though this book did remind me of The Giver, but everyone is older.
Can I say how pretty the cover is? Go ahead. Look at it.
Okay time's up! Am I the only who feels like the fire would make a crazy tattoo?
Personally, this was one of the stories that makes you feel like if you are watching an action adventure movie. Though I tip my hat to Hunger Games, this book kicks ass in the Dystopian Romance section. I love a great romance story, and that was exactly what I got. Four was like Dimitri in a younger-less-Yoda version (For those of you who do not understand who Dimitri is, read Vampire Academy! You won't regret it!).
The only thing that truly bugged me was the ending. After all those breathe stopping moments, it ended with a blah. Not a Bam, a BLAH. It was like the moment after the fireworks, those few minutes where you are like 'So what do I do now?' Yes, it was that sad. Now don't let that discourage you. I KNOW that the sequel will have to surpass this one, otherwise Roth will lose a fan.

4 stars... Only because the ending sucked!

Description-
Every flame begins with a spark.
Ashline Wilde is having a rough sophomore year. She’s struggling to find her place as the only Polynesian girl in school, her boyfriend just cheated on her, and now her runaway sister, Eve, has decided to barge back into her life. When Eve’s violent behavior escalates and she does the unthinkable, Ash transfers to a remote private school nestled in California’s redwoods, hoping to put the tragedy behind her. But her fresh start at Blackwood Academy doesn’t go as planned. Just as Ash is beginning to enjoy the perks of her new school—being captain of the tennis team, a steamy romance with a hot, local park ranger—Ash discovers that a group of gods and goddesses have mysteriously enrolled at Blackwood… and she’s one of them. To make matters worse, Eve has resurfaced to haunt Ash, and she’s got some strange abilities of her own. With a war between the gods looming over campus, Ash must master the new fire smoldering within before she clashes with her sister one more time… And when warm and cold fronts collide, there’s guaranteed to be a storm.

From the first chapter, I had a feeling that Ash was a complete and total bitch. Sorry but it ended up being partially true. The characters in this book seem so full of themselves and think they deserve the world. It's absolutely ridiculous. Never have I read a book with a group of teens with such disgusting personalities. Oh wait! Yes I have, Pretty Little Liars!
The only Kick-Ass thing about it was how everything was very movie-action packed it was. That was it. I will admit that at certain times I was so tempted to just stop reading because I got a bit bored. When I read, I expect to be entertained. That doesn't mean I should have to go look for something else to take away the boredom.
Overall, With it's unique concepts and plot, I had bigger expectations. None of them were met.
What did you guys think of this book?

Description- In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love

Back in the High School, I was the spokesperson/assistant/member of our 4 people book club.
Part of what we had done was make Book Trailers. Hunger Games was the FIRST book trailer I had made. Since I was going to put up my review about it, I thought, why not put up the mini video.

Now that I have that out of the way, on to the real stuff.

If you have read as many books as I have, you might have realized that alot of stories tend to have such weak minded protagonists. Oh you know the type. The ones that no matter how many times they are told "He is not good for you. Don't do it!", they go out of their way to semi-stalk the guy until he is as equally obsessed.
The greatest thing about this book is that there is absolutely no obsession-driven-romance! Yes, yes. It is quite the surprise. The real fun part of the story is actually the Annual Hunger Games. Every year two unlucky kids from the ages of 12-18, are chosen to represent their district in this to-the-death, barbarian competition. With 12 districts, 24 go in, but only one comes out. Talk about horrible odds of survival. So either you win, and you gain riches for your district. Or you lose, and die only to be forgotten.
Imagine the shock when Katniss' little sister is chosen, though it is the first time her name was entered in the "lottery" (The older you get the more times you can enter your name. For each time you enter your name, you gain some sort of rations for your family). Katniss, being the best big sister ever* goes up and takes her place. That within itself shows a sort of courage that not many would have. Even for family, not many people would want to stick out their necks knowing what the outcome might be. The other "lucky" person chosen was Peeta. A schoolmate who tends to keep to himself.
Before the Games even begin, Katniss has done something wrong she does not even realize she has done. She has sparked talk of a revolution. With just one symbol, she has put herself in more danger than she could ever imagine. Throughout her journey, she has to learn to watch her back, no one can be trusted.
Katniss would have to be my all time favorite female character simply because of who she is. Some people would say she has a feisty personality but in reality, it's what makes her awesome. In her home of district 12, it is either fight for survival or die. Simple as that. Ever since her father had died, Katniss has been doing all she could to keep her family alive. Is that strong or what?
I can easily say this book will spark your inner feminism. You will feel that this girl has cut the boundaries of helpless-girl, to strong-willed young woman. I can guarantee that this will be one of the books you will want to tell all your friends about for days to come.
